then it was up bright and early the next morning to run the race in melba that we always do. everyone did great, except bridon's 'hurt' leg or something or other kicked in, so i stayed behind with him and even carried him a little bit...but i was not letting him quit! per tradition, we stopped at the whitehouse on the way home for breakfast of champions??!

we were coming off a cooking heat wave that had come in for about 10 days, so water was in store again. we pulled out the slip and slide, put on patriotic tatoos, watched a show, and then pulled out all the stops and the kids and i went and found one of the livestock tanks up on the curve and put us up a redneck swimming pool!
when we had had all our fun with that and eaten dinner, it started to cool down a bit! we had our own fireworks show with smores up at the firepit. the missionaries came, brad's family, and grandma and grandpa. the boys pooled their money and we had an excellent show. it was a wonderful time with family remembering our freedoms and blessings in this country!
