we turned emily's utah wedding open house into a recreational affair. the boys had gone ahead with aunt lisa and had their vacation with grandma, so we picked them up on their final day and spent the day at steadman's for an informal kunzler reunion. shaundel's family was there, stacey, aunt cheryl and uncle glen with spencer's kids, and parts of the park valley crew, along with all of our family (parents and siblings). we missed grandpa there. i think the only way i'll get to see him now is a visit to his home, which is no small feat. we all had a potluck lunch together and then spent the day visiting, sliding, ziplining, and playing a little volleyball before we took off that evening to spend the nite with eldon and lisa. it was a fun day that the kids enjoyed, and great to see those we don't get to very often.

the next day we planned to meet with julie and brad's families, along with natalie and mark, at lagoon! it was a moderate day with just a small amount of rain. we packed our lunches in and hit all the rides we could! my favorite was the rocket from the college days. i did want to try a few more of the newer ones but had a few snags along the way, including ellee needing to go to the bathroom every five minutes because she wouldn't sit down and actually finish going on the big, nasty flushers. the kids area was awesome and the girls favorite was the ladybug ride that took you up high and dropped you down, down, down. they laughed and squealed. the only one in our family that had aversion to free fall was bridon. he thought i had killed him when i took him on the old white roller coaster and collasus. he and luke stuck together after that on the 'easy' rides. bentley went on everything in the park, including the newest, scariest cannibal! he had a great time with kathryn getting me soaking wet for the rest of the day!

and it couldn't be par for the course, without a little car trouble. a huge oil leak developed on the way to mom and dad's for sunday dinner. we had planned to eat and take off, but instead spent the evening together playing some ball, going for a walk, and visiting with alan and whitney while ben worked on attempting to seal up the oil pan and overniting parts to our house so we could limp home monday morning. we love our old cars!
