June on Hold...

june felt like it was on hold a little bit because of girls camp! there was camp kick off, relentless meetings, and then the big event (which turned out awesome!).
emerson went on her vacation with anni at grandma moncur's.  they had a princess treasure hunt, went to the movies and splash pad, did watercolor drawings, and had a wonderful time!  we picked her up in hammett and while she was gone, everyone rode the stacker and ellee and i picked and froze strawberries.  we even delivered strawberry shortcake to the field and our ward members one nite!

we helped camille check off her summer bucklist item, "hike to jump creek."  we had a picnic on our new patio and then hiked in and went for a swim.  it was a beautiful nite and we ended by going over and picking a bucket of cherries at the weissner's.  the kids had never been up there in the summer to swim, so the boys especially, had a wonderful time!

bentley started weed eating for the neighbors and certain farm jobs, along with his mowing. joanna hosted a fun party one saturday and invited the kids over for cotton candy and the jump house with all her nieces and nephews.  we had the 'call' family get together for lunch and so brought heston and henley home and they got to party too.  emerson and ellee also got to go for a horseback ride.  ellee loved it! we have great neighbors.

we picked peas from the field and made new peas and potatoes with bbq'ed shrimp on the traeger for father's day.  ben took a hit on father's day as i was frantically finishing up camp stuff and one of the leaders underneath me couldn't go 2 days before!  we still think he's the best!

tball time in marsing!  brad and i were the coaches.  we played in marsing and homedale twice a week.  bridon and emerson both played, along with heston and some kids from the 1st ward and preschool class.  the coveted position was catcher!  bridon could really hit when he didn't try to kill it.  emerson had fun, but was pretty timid.  sports are hard for me to decided what's best for my kids.  i was never really good at them, but really loved to play, and still do.  i want to help them find the things that they will excel in and build confidence, and that will help them.  baseball is so much fun, but up here, when you get a little bit older....it is a sunday game just like 4-H.  lame.
the turkeys and ducks grew like weeds!  the kids are growing too!  in between camp prep, i tried to make the weeks fun and meaningful.  we biked and prepped for our fun run, worked in the yard, and had friends over on our water slide a couple times.  we went to the caldwell pool and enjoyed a snow cone.  we have a chore list and implemented the 'check system'.  they all did pretty good on earning their money during june to go to lagoon.

then it was off to camp!  with so many meetings and preparation, there was no way it could fail...and it didn't.  success!!!  the group i ended up leading was awesome.  they mentored and lead the 1st year campers and did a wonderful job.  the ladies i worked and camped with were on top of it and everyone had a wonderful time.  we only had one crazy incident with a runaway ycl and her boyfriend picking her up.  ha!  all is well.  our theme was go for the gold and our testimony meeting was the best.  we did 2 of the funniest skits ever...but doing synchronized swimming with the stake leaders topped it all.  the kids fared well while i was away.  helen came over the first day and spoiled them with lunch and a movie and such, then ben took them to their tball game and down to twin falls to stay with julie.  they had cousin fun and enjoyed dierkes lake.  grandma moncur brought them all home on saturday and helped me with meals and clean up when i got home.  i only ended up with having to have one crown and my patio flowers dying from not being watered from the adventure. our ward leaders brought us dinner that nite as well.  the blessings for serving far out-way the negatives and i'm glad i could help and for the help of so many towards me and mine.  we reclaimed the yard and garden, decompressed for a couple of days, took the kids swimming at holtom's for fhe and then it suddenly turned into july.  now....onto our summer!!!
