7th Birthday Bootcamp!

little buzz turned 7!  his birthday landed on a saturday, so we took full advantage of being together. we started off with a 5k bike ride/race over in homedale, the angel walk.  he invited heston and chad. chad and bentley took off barrelling towards the front until bentley's chain seized up.  bridon and heston stuck together and i ran with emerson until part way thru and then took off thru the middle of town to catch everyone coming in.  ben delivered the bikes and took ellee to check fields until it was over.  we got pops and faces painted, played on the army tank, and played in the park.
bridon requested an army cake and pork chops for his meal.  he got a sweet officer hat from grandma moncur and bow and arrow, sunglasses that he picked out, and walkie talkies from us. bridon is a fun little guy.  when i asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up he said if he doesn't die in the army, he will go on to be an electrician.  i'm not sure how i feel about that!  but it's only a 7 year old dream, right?  he has to make it thru basic training...and that might be a dilemma for him:)  he enjoys pretending to blow up things and light grenades off a lot more than practicing running and coordination.

bridon does well in school.  when i asked him what his favorite part of learning there is, he said reading thru all the paragraphs because he can read fast and get it done good!  he ended the year with 110 wpm.  his favorite food is honeydew, all melons really, apples, pineapple...fruits and vegetables he said.  he told the dr that at his checkup (about the melons and such) and that he didn't have a favorite sport but liked to just run around outside.  she was quite impressed.

his favorite thing to do with our family is have family home evening.  he listens very well there and at scripture study.  he is not afraid to share the answers that he knows in primary and learns from the lessons he is given.  if he has to choose a job that he likes more than others, it is the garden.  we shall see, we shall see (we working on being a motivated worker:).  and no, i did not bring those horrid blue cupcakes in that he is pictured with at school.  they celebrated birthdays last friday and we brought popsicles.  happy birthday to our little army guy.  we love you lots and lots!!!

I love Bridon's 7 year old picture! Way to go Bridon at reading 110 words per minutes! That's the 3rd grade goal! Now you are ready to write wonderful stories. Maybe you will be a great writer like your Mom!
