Spring Break 2015

i love having my kids home for spring break.  i don't know why, but it is just less stressful not having the school routine.  we had many things planned, starting out with grandma coming for a visit.  she met us at the zoo where i had bought some tickets from a benefit auction.  it was great weather and we met camille there too!  ellee loved the monkeys, and bentley enjoyed watching the zookeepers feed the huge, old tortoise (he's like 120 years old or something!)

grandma brought emerson her birthday present...a lite up, singing elsa dress.  so, the girls had to dress up!  she spent time with us doing our sunday routine..church, dinner, playing some hoops, a treat, and we took pictures that evening.  on monday, we attempted to climb lizard butte, but got 3 minutes of rain that sent us back to the car.  it came down hard.  we need about 3 days of that rain!  we went and chose fabric in marsing instead, played at the park, and ate our sack lunch.  thanks for coming.

over spring break, we erupted bentley's volcano (bridon says interrupted...ha ha), bridon had karate, went hiking with jill and her kids to jump creek and had a picnic.  the boys and emerson crawled up on top of everything they could!  they had a great time doing a lot of exploring.  we planted peas with the no-till drill...mom even drove a round!  and other menial tasks around the house and yard.  we also had a few friends over to play and went one afternoon to use our 'blizzard' coupons at dq.

bentley had a piano lesson and both boys really wanted me to show them how to sew, so we picked out fabric one day....but still haven't used it.  it is on our to-do list!  the piano is still on the go.  we just worked on 'bom stories' yesterday for faith in god.
the weekend of spring break, we took off friday and delivered sprinkler heads to buhl, then drove onto tremonton.  we had a great time being with family to celebrate claire's blessing!  on saturday, we went fishing at a fish hatchery in ogden.  it was insane the amount of fish that flew out of there in a matter of minutes.  i even caught one!  we finally had to shut it down, because you pay by the fish and can't throw any back.  we resorted to playing tether ball and feeding the fish.  the boys were in heaven and the girls had fun too.  ellee and ivy caught fish!  the older girls wore their blue-green lipstick and played near the water and loved throwing the fish food.  grandpa was kind enough to buy all of those trout, so we packed them home and had fish for easter dinner on our traeger.  that evening, ben and dad stayed with all the kids, so we could attend the women's broadcast.

the next day was claire maria wright's blessing (emerson and ellee call her 'clara'.)  lisa hosted a brunch before church and grandpa even made it to her ward.  it was great to get to see him.  ellee sure thought claire was something.  she always wanted to hold her and give her loves.  lisa and eldon are great parents.  we are so happy for them and that claire is healthy and strong!  then it was off on our journey home...and everyone fell asleep at one point.  a miracle, but not really, considering all the early morning and late nite cousin shenanigans.  family time is always the best.
