Bentley's Baptism

bentley was baptized saturday, march 29th at 11 am.  ben baptized him and gave him the gift of the holy ghost.  it is a day that i can't believe came so quickly.  he has now entered the path of making and keeping covenants.  we had so many family members and friends there to support him, and i may or may not have been running just on time, so great pictures didn't happen (not sure what happened to my brain there).  thanks to lisa for putting together a special book for everyone to write about their thoughts on his baptism.

bentley wrote, "i want to remember that all of the sins were washed away.  i felled very good inside because i could be baptized."

i feel so blessed to be experiencing these moments as a mother and with such wonderful family and friends.  i felt the spirit so strongly when we closed the meeting singing the song bentley had chosen, 'i know that my redeemer lives'. it was a special day.  all the cousins sang his favorite primary song, 'i will follow god's plan.'

i had prepared sloppy joes and desserts to take down to our building in marsing for a family dinner.  that went off without a hitch and everyone came with delicious food to share and lots of fun.  we gave bentley a complete set of leather scriptures.  so far, he has been very motivated in reading them.  he is a good boy and i know that he can and will do great things.  that afternoon, the kids played and played and then in the evening was the first annual 'women's meeting' for all 8 and up.  mom, lisa, and i got to attend together! it was a reaffirmation of the power of motherhood and sisterhood.  i especially enjoyed the video presentation showing a girl keeping her covenants and growing and learning from infant to the end of life.  my oldest child had just taken a step on that path that very day.  i hope he will make good choices and that we will be able to guide him throughout his life...
