White Christmas!

santa found us christmas morning!  ellee gave us a christmas surprise too, and for some reason slept from 11:15 to 5:30!  bentley was the first one up to find the note santa had left.  he told him all the good things he had seen him do thru the year..but that he really needed to quit showing off and be himself around others :).  he couldn't believe it!!  really. 

 

the kids got lil learning laptops, a remote control helicopter, books, games, and emerson a new wooden ice cream set for her kitchen.  there were movies and batteries, and lots of sugared cereal and poptarts in their stockings!  emerson loved the glitter glue and made all sorts of designs.  the boys flew the helicopter with ben in the basement.  ben even got his beloved ipad for church and business use only-ha ha.  a grand time was had by all!

later in the day, we went to hang out at gpa and gma's house.  it started to snow!  all the kids had to get a taste of the white christmas before dinner and went out to throw snowballs and eat some of the new stuff.  we played a few games and visited before coming home for the nite.  what a great day!

of course we had to play in the snow that week.  the mcclain kids came down and we attempted a mini snowman.  it wasn't the best for forming, but we had fun!  the kids had also got to make polar express sugar cookies with grandma earler. each grand kid got to have time with her to roll out three cookies, then everyone decorated them together with lots of sprinkles!

later in the week, we headed down to visit mom and dad and have the annual wells-moncur christmas party.  my cousin will was there spending the nite!  his mission homecoming was the day i had ellee, so we hadnt seen him yet.  that was a nice surprise. 

friday, we headed up to albion for the party.  mom reserved the old schoolhouse for overnight.  the place was a little rough around the edges, but we had a good time!  we played in the snow, played some games and trivia, ate lots of delicious food, and did some super-cute snowflake crafts and kid penguins. the kids had the 'bunk room' all to themselves.  emerson played pool with no stick and cracked herself up.  we all played air hockey.  one of the kids must have messed with the blower on the wood stove.  they about froze too death that nite in there.  the best part of the place, in my opinion, was that it was indestructible.  the kids could run wild with no fear! :0  thanks everyone for a great time!  wish alan and whitney could've come...(they were sick)

we had a wonderful week of christmas festivities!!
