West Nile

i was hoping to have some fun, end of summer pictures this week, since school is creeping up on my little 1st grader.  instead, bentley came down with flu-like symptoms on monday nite and is still not quite himself today.  that's a full week almost!  poor guy!  poor us, trapped at home...:)  not that bad, we've done a few errands and he was feeling well enough to go sweat too death at the owhyee fair one nite and go swimming one nite with all of us-even dad!  he had a headache one day, body aches one day, diarrhea two days plus stomach ache, a fever one day, threw up one nite, and has been just out of energy.  he still is not eating, which is so not like him.  i did haul him into the dr. just to please ben, and nothing.  hmmm.  i should have demanded a blood test i guess.  i'm still thinking west nile.  we got infested with mosquitoes about two weeks ago and had everything sprayed.  the county abatement set up a mosquito trap in the pond right here and west nile was found; plus, he is a magnet for bites and they swell up all over him.  he received a priesthooed blessing, and i know that always helps so much!  we still were able to get some canning done...green beans and corn picked for freezing.  bridon went with ben a little bit more than usual until he fell asleep twice and then wouldn't go to bed at nite.  one funny story about him was from today.  i am the 'permanent' sub for primary, so i was watching as sharing time was given.  the sister had a bowl of potting soil and bowl of fresh fruit and wanted a child to come up and tell her what he would choose to eat.  the boy chose an apple and said he didn't want the dirt.  bridon piped up and said he would have chosen dirt because it is actually oreos smashed up and is really good (we have dirt cups every now and then...)  silly bridon.  emerson helped me snap beans and put stems and all in the bowl.  hoping to get out this week a little bit more and get mr. bentley on the mend!
