Let Freedom Ring

4th of july fun!  this time of year is super busy for us, so the highlights of celebrating our country are running the fun run, with or without someone (this year was alone).  i was able to run ten minute miles, so i was happy with that time at this point.  the kids and ben came to cheer me on at the end and have breakfast.  then a rush to get back and get to work!

we always have a bbq, whether there is an insanely huge crowd, or just our family.  this year it was at kathy and loren's, with a crowd.  we had a great time and enjoyed sharing why we love the usa and all it stands for!  i just can't help but see the flag or sing patriotic songs, and think of all the sacrifices that have been made to keep us free!  there were many veterans in my family and in the ward i grew up in, so i heard much on that.  i hope to be able to teach my kids how special our country is.  growing up, we didn't do a whole lot either, always irrigating.  sometimes the parade, some good food, and fireworks from the little man from wyoming with a station wagon full of illegal fireworks!

we ended the day at our place with the fireworks ben picked up.  the main fireworks man in marsing hung up his hat, so him and the boys had to go to some fur company in notus.  the boys loved it!  they each used their money they earned to buy a little firework -firetruck, etc.  it's always fun to have everyone over and watch a good a show.  god bless the usa!
