Cousin Recreation

 the mcclain family was in town for 2 weeks recently.  then julie's family came for a week as well.  the kids had a ball taking part in cousin recreating.  lots of us took swimming lessons at the dorsey pool.  they were all seperate, but the last day we all got to play together in the pool and then have a picnic.  my boys really excelled this go around with swimming.  i was pleased!  yah!  now i don't have to worry as much about trying to haul bentley's big self out of some place he can't reach.  he was able to swim across the pool by the end!

 there was lots of playing and swimming.  we had family over a few nites/days and one of the nites, the airplane was spraying our radishes for aphid across the road.  this was the best entertainment ever for all these little people.  so much for badmittion!  katy and heston started screaming every time he would circle the house, so then they all started in being crazy. :)

 

bentely played t-ball during the month of june and practices the end of may.  katy and ryan came and cheered him on a few times while they were here.  he knew all about the game this year, so it was fun watching him hit or play first or pitcher when it was his turn.  i have to admit, it was a little more difficult this year for some reason.  the games are right at 6, so emerson was not pleased with this arrangement.  we had lots of picnics and lots of screaming on the way home.  when ben was able to come, it seemed a little better!way to go bentley!

grandma made matching skirts and ties for all the grandkids.  we attempted a formal picture the morning after the 4th.  yikes!  oh well, it is recorded for posterity and the outfits are adorable! everyone being silly...

we went to the lake the last day of the visit.  emerson wanted to go out as far as she could.  naughty!  i usually put a life jacket on her around water.  it was the beginning of the super hot heat wave we are experiencing.  bentley especially had a great time swimming and throwing mud with kathryn that day.  i'm not one for recreation everyday (ha! didn't seem to bother me in college or as a teenager:), so i was worn out by the end.  saturday when everyone left, it was declared a full WORK day!  but now that a few days have gone by, it would be fun to get together once or twice a week with all the cousins.  till next time...
