Punchcard Pass

the kids and i try to make a trip each summer to visit lisa's family.  this year, i used the trip as a great way to motivate my boys (especially bentley).  we had been having some issues with him since school got out, so i printed up these behavoir punch cards, made a colored stoplight (yellow=warning, etc.)  and we started off june!  at first, it was a struggle.  i also included not only behavior but all of our jobs to get a punch each nite.  bridon did well, and bentley made it one day before we were ready to leave!  he did it!  and he was a very good boy all the way there and back.  we played in their yard, on their blow-up water toys, went to a water park in ogden (that was the big incentive), made ice cream cones, had a hot dog roast, watched 3 musketeers (thus the reenactment), and lisa and i hired a babysitter and ran a 5k saturday morning at the bear river health fair.  we had a wonderful time!  we also got to celebrate grandpa moncur's birthday on the way down and spend some time there.  emerson did her usual screaming on the way down, but absolutely took to the little toddler bed at their house.  she took naps on it and slept thru the nite.  it was amazing!  i didn't even feel drowsy since i also got to sleep thru the nite.  there is hope for us traveling!  now the boys are on a kick to earn money for their own fireworks next week, so we've started over working towards a goal.  hope it keeps helping!
