June Highlights

june started out with a trip to be with family when our newest cousin, wyatt was blessed.  getting together is always so much fun.  bridon got to stay for his 4 year old vacation with grandma moncur and tylee.  he had a wonderful time.  the month has been filled with work and play...and a quick ride over to fish at owyhee dam on a rainy saturday.  ben was able to leave in the afternoon, so we went over to catch of some fish but didn't even get a bite!  it couldn't have been the wind, kids throwing rocks, re-casting over and over.  oh well, we had fun and stopped for some pizza on the way home.

bentley and bridon saw a john deere sprayer they couldn't resist in d&b.  i told them they would have to save up for it.  bentley had been saving his egg money, but didn't have enough for tithing and the sprayer.  i made him pay his tithing first and then he pestered his uncle too death for his tab until he got it all in change to take for the sprayer.  good thing it was only $8!
we finally got our lawn mowers fixed so that i could help bentley mow the firepit lawn w/ the push one.  it is a beast and the bag fills in one round.  he cannot start it himself.  the lawn is surrounded by the canal and a cement ditch where emerson and bridon want to be at all times getting in and throwing rocks.  it was such a noble idea, and he was pumped to mow.  he rode his bike up there relentlessly for two days to get it done.  then was devasted when ben hired the lawn mowers to finally finish it.  maybe next year, it is not worth someone drowning...

strawberries are on!  mom came and noticed there were a good amount being eaten by birds.  i bought a net and set up one of ben's coyote decoys in the box.  only a couple have been eaten now.  emerson loves the coyote.  she can see it from her bedroom window!  nothing better than fresh strawberries.  they are like candy.

bridon asks me all sorts of questions...and loves to pick me a flower from the yard almost every day.  he asks me about laman and lemuel and why they didn't want the fruit on the tree.  he asks ben all sorts of questions in the swather.  he likes to dress up like a cowboy still and says he wants to be that for halloween.  he also wants to go on a train ride.  so does bentley, so we'll have to see if the polar express is up and running this winter!

emerson is attempting the potty (she gets a gumball if she goes, that is what she is holding).  she is nothing but independent.  i think it is true, she knows how, so one day she will just rip her diaper off and tell me she is going to go herself.  till then, i think i'll give it a rest...unless she takes too long!  last week, while i was working in the garden, she pooped on the grass.  the boys came screaming to tell me.  i told them to leave it alone and rushed her to the potty.  in the meantime, they came running in the freshly vacummed house with mud to tell me shera ate the poop.  and then try making an angel food cake from scratch when she needs to go in the middle of sifiting the flour and powdered sugar 3 times.  bridon took that over while i was gone. you can imagine how that went!  but it was still delicious with strawberries for father's day!
