september is ben's favorite month of the year. you can start to see the fruits of your labors, the weather cools off (hopefully!), and you know that in a month or two you get to hibernate for the winter (at least that's what he thinks!) i used to love summer. it was my favorite time of the year cause we were out of school, mom was home, we all got to WORK together on the farm, we had all of our fair activities, softball, and still got to do some of that water and outdoorsy stuff...ok, maybe that didn't really get completely underway until highschool and college, but a blast just the same. life is different now, and i'm just fine with that. summer means work, but i still love it. it doesn't mean as much playing around as it used to, especially with two little wild boys. so, i guess i'm not too sad to see autumn start to come in. i'll harvest all my pumpkins
and gourds, set out the straw bales, do the last bit of canning, and work on my homemade halloween costumes! but we'll still enjoy the last, little bit of sunshine and fun that we can this month!

I love summers too, the hot weather that is perfect for boating a river floating, but since I've been in school through the summer for the last three years I don't know the last time I was on a boat or floating the river. Can't wait till next summer!!
I love fall too though. To be honest I think it is the best time of the year. Leaves changing colors, warm days, cool night, it's glorious! Hey, maybe we'll see you guys this fall!
way to go! i've fizzled out with canning. maybe one more batch...
Your jelly looks really good! Can't wait to try some. I like September also, but I think October is my favorite so I'm hoping for a good month ahead. Love you! Mom
Maria, you just take such great pictures!!! I love your blog. That's all I can say.
Yay!! I love the fall!! Even though down here it really isnt fall! I love your pictures!! You are doing awesome!
Hi Maria, you're making me tired. :) It's good to read about all the fun things you're doing. Hard to believe the summer went by so fast! We had fun in Idaho, and no, I did not jump off the island. Honestly, I don't think I ever have. I always heard your feet hit the bottom and I wanted none of that. :) I'm just a chicken!
becky, they DO hit the bottom, barely. just wear shoes...the mud is really squishy!!! you gotta do it atleast once. maybe we should have an island/canal reunion!!!
