ben took me to IOU, a sushi bar in boise for my birthday. i have to admit, i was skeptical because i knew what the prices would be...but, the food was REALLY good. i highly recommend atleast trying it out once, just for the experience...and get one of the dragon rolls!! on the way home, we stopped at
idaho camera to start the process of finally getting a camera i can depend on. i do want a nice one, with some nice dollar signs, so until my research is complete on what i want,
i've been investigating. my friend camille let me demo her awesome nikon d-40 on sunday nite at the heyburn train bridge. i only adjusted a little bit of lighting, etc. on the pictures of the boys in photoshop, and look at these beautiful photos
(w/ me as the VERY amateur photographer)! i do want an slr, but i'm not sure i can justify the money and all the manual settings i may never have time to use. i loved the shutter speed, clarity, and manual focusing of the lense. any opinions out there?!

For being an amateur, those pictures look great. Some advice I heard from an old college roommate who is pretty deep into the photography biz; she said a good started camera is a Nikkon D 40 with a 55mm-200mm lens for some good zoom. That's what I have my eye on when I can afford it. They're not horribly spendy either. I've seen them online for about $600 with the basic lens and the lens I mentioned above. Anyway, that's what I know, but I too am in that amateur status like you so take it for what it is worth.
Haven't seen you in forever!!! Next time you guys are in Boise you should stop by!
I am looking for a camera too! So let me know what you find!
