the day after christmas we worked in the office, on primary, animals, and all things that had to be done, so we could get away for a few days! we left early saturday morning (so loaded down with food, bedding, skis, etc!) after stopping at the office (no printer at our house anymore:// ), to get a hitch for the trailer, a member of the ward's, and the ski shop! we made it in time to celebrate grandpa kunzler's 90th birthday in burley just in time! it was fun to see everyone and hear his stories again. he said the last, two years have gone by slow. i'm so glad my kids could hear him and get to know atleast one, great grandparent. i can't believe he is that old!!
after the lunch, we loaded up and exchanged kids and vehicles, and eldon and i took the older kids to go nite skiing at pomerelle. my boys had a lot of fun! bridon was my little lift buddy (the blue lift can be precarious) and the last few times he kept saying he was having the best time ever. it was good snow, good company, good lunch....slightly cold though and windy on the lift. brrr!!!
we spent that nite and sunday at castle rocks nearby. we are starting to fill that place up too...if it had one more bathroom, we'd be in good shape. it was also chilly, but we braved it twice and went out into the snow to sled around and explore. we did our family gift exchange which ellee was quite excited about! she got a new 'pack pack.' grandma made all the girls matching outfits that we wore down to sacrament meeting in almo. very cute!!!
sunday nite was our annual, wells-moncur holiday party. i made pizza dough and we started rolling out and making pies for everyone! we had a fun lesson with grandma and story from grandpa out in the bunkhouse. the theme was service and gratitude. the story was one from a book we had as kids about 'old sam'. it has now been turned into a children's storybook. i loved that story and remember when dad gave it in a talk. we played a game and decorated thank you cards. so fun to see everyone!
on monday, we played in the snow again with NO wind:). our family went down to lisa and eldon's where we played and got some milkshakes. we wanted to go bowling, but all the lanes were filled! oh well. us adults stayed up and played some games and then we headed home on tuesday. by then, some serious arctic air had moved in! we stopped in at grandma's and had lunch and picked up our trailer with the beds eldon had built for us. then it was off, on a long journey home to pick up yet another item....a flat bed in jerome with etched in wolves for rogelio's old pickup. a stop in boise again for different ski boots since bentley had an attack in the ones we had originally and dinner. the kids traveled exceptionally well and our car didn't break down. wahoo!
