Thanksgiving at Home

we were at home this year for thanksgiving and tried really hard to have a nice vacation!  i finished up office work on wednesday morning and called it good for the week.  all we had to do was feed livestock.  the kids had wed-mon off!

while ben was trucking out in melba, he saw a field of free-rainge turkeys and just had to buy one!  so, he and i provided the turkey and ben got up early to get it going in our traeger.  then, we got everyone ready and headed over to kuna for a frozen turkey fun run.  the weather was mild once again and perfect for a run.  they even had fun dancing music and prizes at the end.  bentley won a bag of rainbow popcorn.  and, the turkey was same as done when we got home.

two of ben's buchanan cousins and their families came from utah, along with julie, emily, natalie, and brian's family to celebrate thanksgiving and have dinner.  it was, of course, delicious!  we played games together and enjoyed the delicious pies in the evening.

while the family was here, some enjoyed going out to the shooting range (the little boys made their own gun versions!).  we also went in to the farmway building and played basketball and volleyball in the gym.
on saturday, we had our own family day and took the kids to get lunch in boise and go to the discovery center.  check out the very friendly squirrel in front of the pizza joint.  at the discovery center, the girls loved the grocery store area, a lot!  the boys had fun with the bed of nails, and other contraptions, and making little buggies to race. ellee got really rowdy after awhile, so we headed home and made dinner.  we had a wonderful time together over thanksgiving break and are grateful for all of our many blessings!  on sunday, loren was put in as the new bishop of our ward.  this will bring lots of changes, work, and hopefully many blessings to our family... he will do a wonderful job.

I'm glad you had such a good Thanksgiving. It's fun to see the pictures and observe all the fun things you do as a family. I'm glad you and your family are healthy and happy!
