ben says more people die recreating than working. but sometimes with kids, you need an outlet. so, in july, i planned some activities...he was working while we were recreating. seems a little wrong, but oh well, he likes it that way.
bentley learned several new strokes and practiced diving. emerson got a lot more confident in the water and bridon, well, he almost can swim on his own...but not yet.
we have discovered some fun critters in our yard and garden while out working and slip and sliding. bridon loved playing with the little frog. we found a long-toed salamander in the irrigation box and everyone got to take a turn holding him, and also a monarch butterfly in the tree. one day, bridon wanted his face painted like an army guy but we only had green, yellow, black, and white face paint. soo...this is what i came up with for everyone!
we took time out for the snake river stampede. ben was given some tickets, so we took all the kids on opening nite, minus ellee who stayed home with a sitter:). better for all! the kids also have fun on whatever they find. here they are playing follow the leader "follow me!" running on top of the water tank.
bentley and bridon got to go on one campout overnite to the father and son's. that was the extent of camping. too bad. emerson really wanted to have a campout, so i planned a day we could put up the tent in the back yard. we played old maid "mave" and go fish until it was good and dark. it was a painful nite for me with lots of mosquitoes and kids waking up, but they had fun!:) just getting old i guess....
and once a week, i try to plan an outing for us, and usually we invite friends along. here we have the lake and settler's park splash pad. we have also gone to the hadlock's pool and few other spots. hoping to swim somewhere each week in august. that seems to be the favorite!oh, and don't forget buzz and his dressing up. this day was his monster tail held up with his cowboy belt...
