Dad Turns 60!

my dad turned 60 on june 20th!  we didn't know if we would make it.  true to some of our mcintyre get- togethers, everyone had shared the stomach flu earlier in the week.  bentley had the worst of it and it wouldn't let up.  we thought he was feeling better, so we used our date/babysitting that we bought from the garner's at our ward auction and left the kids with them for our 10th anniversary on june 18th. we were somewhat planning to do a 1/2 day raft trip, but it was raining, thus giving ben time off, but not making rafting very fun.  instead we ran a few errands, went and saw 'mom's nite out', hiked up around table rock and the old pen, and went to eat at the outback.  i cannot believe 10 years have gone by so quickly!  i swear i will wake up and be 70 in a couple days.  bentley said he felt quesy when we picked him up.  he had eaten pizza and cherries at the garner's.  not a good combo.  he threw up all over his new carpet at about midnite.  at 5 am, ellee barfed all over in her crib, or was it diarrhea?  the marler's had invited us for a fun, summer activity at christensen pond.  negative on that.  but we made it to mom and dad's the next day and i think only dad and blaiz had slight ill effects.  (bentley barfed again at grandma's after feeling awesome the day before).
BUT, we did make it!  i got everything ready and loaded and drove out to stateline to pick ben up off the swather.  we all rolled in and had dinner together at the upper crust that nite with an ice cream cone for the kids.  saturday, our gift to dad was a work day.  we painted the little bunk house and helped do trim work.  eldon also did some carpenter work on the porch and in the kitchen.  by the time we were done, my boys boots were covered in paint and we were all tired, but things looked a lot better!!  happy birthday!
we took off early sunday  morning and left emerson at mom and dad's for her first, vacation!!!  she was so excited to stay with 'no moms and no babies.'  her most favorite part of her stay was the fancy nancy party grandma had for her, anni, and tylee!  grandpa was there on sunday and he's showing his father's day tie we made him.  we made one for both our grandpas and ben.  the kids each put their hand print on them.  we have a wonderful family on both sides.  so grateful for dad and ben and loren.  they hold our families together!
