this evening i left the dishes on the table and went out and played on the trampoline with the kids. ben was busy with elders quorum. all the food is dried onto the counter and table, but the weather was beautiful and we had fun together. you know that quote that's always being passed around mormonland of the lady who has a picture of her little kids eating a picnic, and she wishes she remembered what they ate and what they did that day more than if the laundry got done or if the house was clean?
today i want to remember...
bentley: i was so proud of him for actually choosing to fast. i taught him about opening with a prayer and closing with a prayer. he said he was trying to help cousin spencer who needs a new heart. he has never met him, but saw a picture of him in the hospital. on the way home from church, he said it was so hard not to take a cookie his teacher had made in class. i said 'why didn't you?' cause i know my boy and i had forgotten he was fasting. he said he couldn't take one because he was fasting. 'it was even a gorilla poop!' i was so proud of him for making a good choice.
bridon: he waited in line forever to get his birthday candy from the bishop. he gave all of his siblings one and ellee two because she's a baby. then he put the rest in the freezer for dad when he got home from his meetings and for all of us fasting. that was so thoughtful!
emerson: she said the cutest thing last nite about the moon on the way home from watching 'frozen.' i pointed out the crescent moon and she said she would call it a banana moon because it looks like a banana. she got up so early this morning...the only morning we get to sleep in till 7 because she was scared of the wolves (from the movie).
ellee: debuted in nursery a week early. i took her to really try it out (we've gone for different segments before and she loved it). sis givens told me to just leave her and she did great! all during sacrament meeting she yelled 'mom!' 'mom!' while she showed me her animals and babies she could see. all the older people said i would miss this, esp her calling my name. it doesn't seem like it when she's so loud and i don't get much out of those talking, but they are right. i need to record her 'mom!' 'dad!' 'woof woof!' 'meow!' 'uh-oh' and nodding her head yes or no.
