Catching up on Easter!
we spent a quiet easter weekend here at home. while ellee took a nap, the other kids dyed eggs. who says brown and blue chicken eggs don't dye well? look how awesome they turned out!
we had a lesson on the resurrection and emerson got to color a picture of christ in the tomb (she loves to color!) we also made milk jug rabbits for our baskets. ellee was allowed to help with this activity. do you see why she was not allowed around the eggs? she can crawl up onto the table if left unattended and a chair is nearby. she demolished my swirled easter eggs that i made a few years ago. see picture below with half eaten breakfast burrito. ben was working all afternoon/evening, so we hauled a bunch more stuff to the di trailer, hit albertsons, and ate a pizza on the picnic table that nite.
easter morn, the bunny barely made it. good thing the shop alarm went off and the kids slept in till 7! the old rabbit hid the baskets mom filled up in the trees and in the flowers just like the bunny did growing up and made matching easter outfits. we then had our easter egg hunt that has symbols of jesus and what he has done for us in each of the plastic eggs. the boys went and changed water all morning, so emerson hid the candy and money eggs for each person. they were color coordinated:).
we went to church and enjoyed learning more about our purpose here, our families, and the savior. afterwards, we had a big ham dinner that ben put in the traeger and we made yummy easter cookies to share with our home teachers. it was a beautiful day!
