It's Great to Be 8!

 bentley turned 8 on tuesday.  he is growing up before my eyes!!  it was a beautiful spring day and since our yard and house were all torn up, we took the party to the park in marsing after school.  we even found bridon's ski coat in the process in the brown pickup (our car was in the shop).  i made him a lawn mower cake and ben and i gave him a cool watch. then we did a fun scavenger hunt with all the kids leading to the present he has been begging for forever.  a lawn mower!!  it was in the back of old brown, sill in its box.  i sure hope this was a wise decision on his parents' part, but how can you turn down a kid wanting something to work with?! :)  he received a nerf gun from g&g mc and from his primary teacher, so he and bridon have had a blast with those!  then, the next nite was his first nite of scouts!!!  g&g moncur gave him all of his new scout gear.  he was so excited and said he loved his first nite of cub scouts.  he has a great den mom!

 dear bentley, happy birthday!!  i hope you had a wonderful day!  i love you so much and can't believe how quickly 8 years have gone by.  you have brought me so much happiness.  i love being your mom!  you are willing to get in and work hard and get a chore done.  you are smart. you are willing to share with others.  you tell the truth even when it gets you in trouble.  you are very friendly and like to know what's going on and stay informed.  thank you for helping with your younger brother and sisters.  i can't wait for you to get baptized and receive the gift of the holy ghost.  he will guide you throughout your lie and especially as you grow up and prepare to be a missionary.  i am proud of your decision.  love, mom
