on wednesday of this week, we loaded the car, picked up bentley from school, and headed off to reno. ben had the western alfalfa meeting there and invited us all to come. grandpa and grandma met us there. the kids did well on the trip, not bad on the 6 hour drive in the middle of nowhere, and pretty good sleeping at nite. we were only gone until friday nite, so it was very quick. perhaps next time i will read this and remember it would be fun to try really, really hard to get a babysitter, so we could have a break. we love our kids, but sometime it would be fun to not take them with us (i think it's been since 2007)!!! is that bad??
now that that is out in the open, we did have a good time and the kids had a blast on thursday at the children's discovery museum! it was huge and everyone enjoyed it. even ellee for the most part. we came right when it opened and stayed until closing. there was so much to do and discover! the highlights included a mining trans loader that the boys loaded and loaded with the mining cart and conveyor over and over. it was attached to the ceiling and had actual 'ore'. bentley got to build an earthquake proof tower and test it in a real earthquake! he also built
several other inventions and had a lot of fun at the dam they have set up downstairs with actual turbines you can dam up and power on (his fav). bridon was in love with the airplane!!! he and emerson had fun climbing the netted stairs and one time we did lose him right before lunch. i searched all the rooms and finally found him at the electrical panel with all the gear on, testing out the fuses. of course, that would be buzz! he was very good the rest of the day to let me know exactly where he was going to be! emerson loved sending the rubber ducks thru the dam as well as the slide and 'house' her and ellee played in. she was quite protective of the house and kept asking about it later, not wanting other kids to get in it without her! grandma came with us. hopefully she had fun too! it was great having another adult there to help out and talk to. we all love grandma!
we went out to eat a few times with vendor/conference stuff. bentley ordered the kid sized prime rib and thoroughly enjoyed. i think, a little too much! on friday, they were desperate to go swimming but the pool was outdoors. i finally got up enough gumption to find a robe from the spa area and take them down. it was not too bad!! esp. since kathy kept ellee up in the room. we made a fast trip home, stopping in orovada for a greasy meal at the only cafe there....and booking it back to decorate for the ward christmas party. reno, we loved your museum...and had a fast, family trip, but let's not call it a vacation:)!!!

The museum looks like a great place for kids. It could be said that family means no one gets left behind or forgotten…even Bridon
