I Hope They Call Me on a Mission!

natalie left for her mission to ascension paraguay last week. we were very excited for her!  there were, of course, loads of people including family and friends to see her off.  we went to the taggert's water slide, had a birthday cake for her, listened to her farewell talk, ate delicious food, and had an fhe where we got to give our advice and listen to her be set apart, among other things.  not to mention freezing corn and the eq bbq!

the kids and i dropped by on monday when she was packing.  it really hit me then, after i gave her my sister missionary advice on what to take :), that she was leaving.  so there i went down memory lane, which i don't do much because i usually am barely making it down 'present' lane!  up above is one of the first times i hung out with little sister, natalie.  this is when ben and i went to the city of rocks in 2003; she had just turned 9 years old!  until she got older, natalie was always around to take when i wanted to go hike liberty butte (couldn't find that pic), and when she cut her finger off cutting a pop bottle while i was working in the office!  when emily and jessica got in a wreck, she was home by herself.  i went and picked her up and didn't know what else to do but kneel and pray together.  i was her mia maid teacher and camp director.  and i told ben, she is very much prepared!  it made me think back to being a missionary and all the awesome things she is going to experience.
the kids who 'get it' these days are so much more spiritual than i was leaving on a mission.  she is going to rock!  bentley will be or will almost be 9 when she gets home.  ellee will be 2, walking around in to everything, probably saying a few things. bridon and emerson will be 6 and 5.  how quickly it will fly, i am sure.  we love you hermana mcintyre!  good luck...
