Holy 5th Birthday, Batman!

 bridon turned 5 last week!  he had been wanting me to make him a batman cake for weeks, then added kit kat too.  so, here's what i came up with!  we started out the day with the birthday banner and singing.  he had his favorite breakfast, cereal.  since he wanted his primary class over for his party, i figured we'd just do preschool on his birthday and the kids could dress up.  we were on the letter x, so i did an x marks the spot treasure hunt with licorice x's as the treasure.  we also read books, made an 'x-ray', practiced writing, and played some. 

gma mcintyre made the mistake of asking him what he wanted for his birthday.  he called and told her he wanted her to make him a batman suit with wings.  i'd say she did a pretty good job!  he slept in his costume that nite and wanted to wear it several times out of the house, but ben put the kibosh on that one.  we had lots of fun and lots of cards and presents from all the cousins, family, and few friends that day.  thanks to everyone!  the weather was super warm, so everyone that's around had blue batman cake with oreo ice cream outside and ran off some energy. 

 bridon is a fun little guy.  he goes thru stages where he really tests my patience and can do the most infuriating things, but he can make you laugh, that's for sure.  he also loves to snuggle up to me and can be a really good boy too, most of the time.  he said when he grows up he wants to be a train driver half the day and an electrician half the day (i am trying to get him to be one. haha!  he did get 2 pkgs of electrical tape from his mother for his bday and one is almost gone now), at nite he will be batman.  he loves cereal, ham sandwiches, and spaghetti.  he is excited to go to kindergarten, but not to sit the whole day inside, and has been counting down the days till he gets his immunizations, which he doesn't want to do.  he likes to keep track of the days of the week and remember what we do each day and what things we have planned for the future.  he knows all of his letters and numbers and can write his name.  he learns by osmosis mostly, don't ask me how.  his favorite book is anything from the superhero shelf at the library.  he likes the color blue.  he loves to get the hose out and make messes with it and get all wet.  he does the most random things, sometimes naughty.  today he pulled out a section of the carrots in the garden because he said he doesn't like them anymore.  not true.  he is a carrot lover! last year he cut the peppers with scissors because he said he didn't like them.  true.  his favorite thing about fhe is the songs we sing together.  he has a wonderful imagination and also loves to eat treats.  i guess i'm biased, but i think he's a pretty darn smart kid...and sometimes so much that he gets himself into trouble.  happy birthday bridon!  we love you lots and lots!!
