this week i have been feeling a little out of gas! a little change in our schedule with school starting up and putting the kids to bed every nite by myself (i know, what a whiner), taking away e's binki, i feel tired for some reason, like during the middle of the day tired and at the end of the day tired when i am staring at the mountain of dinner dishes :)! sadly, the first couple of days my patience was wearing thin also. yelling is not therapeutic. laughter is. i used to laugh so much! that was a good thing and i hope to do more of it....the kids gave me some good laughs this week. someday i will be laughing with them more i'm sure!:)
last night i was up helping bentley with chores. i could see bridon in the hose down on the lawn and i thought he was crying/screaming a little. i yelled (nice mom) for him to turn off the water. he didn't respond. eventually he made it up to do his jobs. i was in the middle of something, so when he started in asking me if mosquito repellent hurts your eyes, i said yes it will make you sick or maybe go blind :). that's when i realized what he had done. i left the can of repellent on the picnic table after i sprayed everyone's arms and legs. he can't help himself with an aerosol can. like dennis the menace with buttons. sprayed it in his eyes, then hosed down each eyeball trying to get it out. pretty smart actually. flushing the eye, flushing the eye. ben and i were laughing pretty hard when i told him.
tonite bentley and i were working on homework (he hates homework and reading at home, loves school, loves the bus, hates homework...i hate it this week too until i figure something better out!) he was doing a math worksheet. for some reason in our counting, we ended up with the bird finger. he has asked me what it means before, but i always tell him it is something very bad and just don't use it. tonite, he showed me his finger and said that he had figured it out. you point it up when something like your house is burning down with fire! yes, if only that was its true meaning...
