Easter Weekend

last weekend we traveled across the state in a wind storm to rexburg, fast and furious.  we dropped the two little ones off with my mom and then ben, bentley, and i attended jessica's graduation from byu-i on friday nite.  way to go!  almost all the brothers and sisters made it.  we got our wires crossed getting to all the right spots, but made it to what we came for, so that's all that matters!  we spent the nite with some old friends that have moved to rigby from up here and did an initiatory session at the idaho falls temple saturday morning.  bentley got to swim at the hotel with the beus cousins and a had a great time!

next up, was a surprise birthday party for mom in declo for her 60th birthday.  we did something similiar for her 50th...guess she'll know what to expect for 70!  dad almost couldn't get her drug out to meet us, but she made it and so did all the aunts and uncles, but one, grandpa, and the wells'.  lisa and i made her a book of birthday wishes and then i made little strawberry shortcakes in a jar.  overall, i thought the party went well!  i still am amazed that our 82 year old uncle ordered the 5 alarm, jalepeno burger.  that would've torn me up!  happy birthday mom...we all love you!

we did an easter egg hunt with the kids.  our crew had done the 'resurrection' easter hunt for fhe the monday before and we'd been saving fred and wanda's eggs for a month so we'd have enough white and blue ones (the rest are brown) to color.  we dyed eggs and also found our basket in the morning.  we had hoped to see alan and whitney's new baby, wyatt, but they were still in recovery mode and time ran short.  the kids wore their new (& re-purposed) easter duds to the home ward there and got all sorts of cute little items in primary and nursery.  we had a huge easter feast brought by everyone and then headed for home.  of course, the kids had a blast!  i was tuckered out on the way home from all the packing and bringing and planning, but it was great.  thx everyone!
