Little People

ben was gone for 5 days last week to st. louis for a no-till convention.  i stayed home and was surrounded by little people.  it is winter.  there is no snow.  we are trapped inside for the most part, but we made the best of it :).  it took a couple days for my poor old tooth to get feeling better (thx to gma and our vt for helping us out!), but after that we ventured out.  both of the boys were in cahoots and found the screwdrivers i have hidden (they are banned from them).

bentley took the door apart in his room, then unscrewed the whole door knob/handle while i was showering and stripped the screw out.  bridon had his turn too.  i discovered him after he had unscrewed all the latches out of the front window in the living room.  all of them.  luckily i was able to reclaim those.  little people.  we did our job charts.  we built blanket forts.  we worked on learning projects.
we invited our cousins to the 'jumpy' house and got some energy out, did some shopping, volunteered at school, and then got ready for a 'slumber party.'
our friend camille came over just in time for mom to slice her finger clean open on a pineapple can making the pizza (i was so mad at myself for not listening again!).  we called her  up en route, searched for butterfly bandages, and alas, got the party started and the finger butterfly stitched so we could watch cars 2 and eat dirt cups.  so glad she could come, in more ways than one! :) isn't the owl hat she made adorable?  we had a bumper crop of eggs one day...17, plus shadow's (the turkey).  it is massive.  this one proves it is a turkey egg, dad! that could not come out of a chicken.
bridon started in two nites in a row screaming in the  middle of the nite that his foot bone was hurting.  alarming when in dead sleep, all alone.  doesn't seem to have lasting ailments, go figure.  we ate out a couple of times, against my policy but it was cheap stuff and ended with a nite at 'mom's restaurant.'  we ate by candlelight and mom was the waitress.  two kinds of sandwiches, and leftover pizza were on the menu, with lots of fruits and veg's of course.  bentley loved pretending with me.  he was visiting in town and had 21 kids.
he owned his own restaurant called 'the ham sandwich pizza house' and was a farmer most of the time.  he raised asparagus, oil, carrots, and cheese.  today he asked me if he could use a ladder to touch the clouds?  and both of them think i have a new water pick to clean my lungs (gums). little people.  love them.

Enjoy them while you can - it will fly by and you will wonder where the time when they were little went to. Thanks for informing me of your everyday experiences. It's fun to read! Keep up the good work!
