The Heat is On!

once upon a time a girl (she still sees herself as one:) was asked to be the director for yw camp. she started working on it back in march, delegating many tasks and planning ahead so there wouldn't be any last minute stress. there was lots to do but everything

was going fine until the last week. now there are so many calls, last minute details, and small fires to put out, she is re-thinking whether she was actually prepared! her poor kids keep asking if that phone call or text was for camp or why their mother is leaving again...or perhaps being short with them (oops) for camp. but soon it will all come together and be great! the girl's super, nice mom and maybe mom-in-law agreed to watch the kiddos while she's gone. in case they forget, here is the run down of why the heat has turned up both inside and outside the house...not to mention the air conditioning went out yesterday! you'll have the 95 chickens and 2 turkeys to feed and water. 6 of them are babes and need to be fed separately. shadow, the big turkey will greet you wherever you go. hill-billie, the other turkey will keep the babies warm in case it gets cold at nite. feed will hopefully be stocked up so you don't run out. she-ra needs to be fed twice a day...and she likes to get some exercise in if you have time. don't leave any shoes, toys, or other rubber or plastic items out, or she will destroy them. then off to the kittens (yes, they've been back for 3 weeks now!), bob jr and lilly. they still take a bottle 4or 5 times a day and quite possibly could try your patience. however, bob (for short), started eating canned, cat food and was spotted eating TC's dry cat food today. YES! now if the other one will catch on. oh, you'll need to feed TC too. her pan is on the back porch and bridon or bentley will get the food out of the garage. then there's barney the goldfish, inherited from a wedding reception. wait, he died this morning. the above mentioned girl, finally got him some fish food in town after her husband tried poptarts. then her boy fed him an enormous helping and found the fish belly up. she warned him. oh well. she might go nuts with one more thing. she fed the deceased to the cat. well, there will be all the cleaning she didn't get done and cooking too. just teasing...bathrooms are on the list today, but please don't look too closely at the dusty blinds, baseboards, and other neglected items including the overgrown front flower garden. office on the list for tomorrow, you shouldn't have to deal with payroll or 1st crop credit memos :). the garden needs watered, just weeded today. keep an eye out for aphid and squash bugs. all the powder and sprays are in the garage if needed. the flowers and hanging baskets need water. they will all ready have their weekly dose of fertilizer. and what about the most important, her family? she spent time with them swimming and swinging and playing outside...but 'letting go' is not on option this week. don't let emerson loose in a clothes store or walk without shoes on the hot cement by the back door. they all will be excited to have grandma's attention, cooking, care, and help with not fighting, so they will live happily ever after until their mom returns. the end.
