She's #1!

missy emerson turned one on saturday! the day started off nice and quiet. i made her a #1 onesie and put an old string of beads on her that were my grandma's. she loved them! my mom was able to come in the afternoon. she brought a load of presents, one being a kite for bentley, so they went out and gave it a test run. emry girl just chilled at the house. she now has eight teeth and is getting her one year molars, so she has some grouchy moments. poor girl!

at six, all the fam came over for a combined birthday dinner for bentley and her. it was a house full of craziness, but i do it because when i was a kid, the time we got to spend with cousins was few and far between. it was so much fun though! all those big families loaded with kids looked like a lot of fun in my book! :) we had 31 people over, and that includes a few strays.

i made an owl cake. it was slightly dry, but turned out cute. the kids loved it with their rainbow sherbet. emerson had a blast eating her own, big cupcake. she ate it all, then wiped all the crumbs in her hair and on her face. she is a very busy girl, always on the move...and was so hard to photograph!!! she stopped once to read a book gma moncur gave her, and then at the end of the party, got tired and carried around the owl gma mcintyre made her. she still loves broccoli, and sometimes strawberries. she is a very independent little girl, more so than her brothers at her age. she'll sit on your lap, but rarely lets you hold her unless you're giving her a bottle. she loves to blow bubbles. and, she is still bald with a little, curly mullet. if i wet it down and put hair paste in it, it is not super embarrassing, and actually pretty cute. now if the front would start growing, she'd be set. we love you baby girl!
