In a Pickle

this happened a few weeks ago, and i thought it was too funny not to share! i'm still leery about this advice, but ben says his dad told him it was always good to flush old, bottled or cooked fruits and veggies down the toilet (you know, leftovers). "the septic is a living thing" he says, "it feeds the system." ok, whatever. that was all fine and dandy until a month ago when he flushed a good sized, dill pickle down the back toilet. it took about 4 days of plunging (and almost a plumber's call) for that old girl to go down. :) i still think it's weird...however the bathroom did smell like dill instead of like...well, you know.

speaking of food and being in a pickle, i had recommitted myself to cleaning up immediately after each meal and keeping my house chores on a schedule. i really get lax when ben's busy because it seems like i have to go immediatley from a meal to somewhere or something or get everyone ready for bed or whatever. no excuses. i used to not have this problem until i had 3 munchkins. i don't know about you, but the only time i have unexpected guests, the house is destroyed! it happened last nite with ben's parents. this time, the laundry was a mess too because we'd been on a quick trip and i didn't want to fold all of the laundry on sunday so it was all piled up. good thing my mom lives far away, so i know when she's coming (she might have been appalled)! i seem to have this problem with combing my hair too. i've always had trouble, since childhood, getting up the gumption to style my hair on days i think i'm not going anywhere or seeing anyone (ha!) my mom used to tell me i looked like a p.e. teacher when i was out working with my dad. no offense to any of you phys-ed people out there! i did get my hair cut recently, mostly to prevent the appearance of baldness, but also to make combing it less of a chore. it's on my list to do for today, but it's all ready 3. maybe tomorrow:)...

very funny! glad the pickle "passed"
I forgot about the p.e. thing--good times. Soon you will get to style Emerson's hair too :).

That is hilarious, I had forgotten that my dad flushed food down the toilet. I think it was more along the lines of gross peaches/pears...you know mushy things (not pickles). Silly Ben.
