Vericose Vein

each baby seems to cause me some sort of ailment. this one has given me my first, vericose vein. i thought those just came to old ladies and that they were a mark on your skin. not so much. this one is on the back of my knee, but causes the whole back and side of my knee to hurt. i never knew they were painful! i don't have the most stunning legs to begin with, so this should be nice for summer wear. oh well! bentley still told me i looked very, very handsome today when we got home from church. church was a little rough today. i think we have some things we need to work out in the parenting department, because ben got so mad at bentley who wouldn't get off the floor during sacrament meeting, that he took him home and put him in his bed. in the meantime, bridon continued to make pig snorting noises, and then went completley nuts until i had to take him out at the end. i was looking around for ben and then turned around to close the kitchen door so he wouldn't go in and bri boy disappeared! it was super scary...right when the closing prayer went on, so i started racing through the church and he's no where to be found. i call ben and get him down there asap, and in the meantime (prob. a good 5-10 min later) someone found him wanting a drink at the drinking fountain clear on the other side of the church. i'm not sure how many more of these little stinkers we can handle! luckily, they were both trapped in the nursery the remainder of the block, so that we could somewhat enjoy church. this was bridon's second week, and he absolutely loves it! any great ideas for keeping a naughty 3 1/2 year old and 18 month old occupied during church and all afternoon on the sabbath?!

kids are crazy aren't they? but, hey, at least bridon was in the church. the same thing happened to someone in my ward but their boy had wandered two houses down and was playing with toys in the backyard. and i don't know how to keeps kids quiet in church. i just pray really hard. i think Heavenly Father blesses us just for the effort. hopefully our kids will get it eventually if we just keep at it. *sigh* i do miss the single days when sacrament meeting was easy.

Maybe you could hire a nanny. One of the girls in our Single's Branch is a nanny and so she brought the youngest one who is the same age as Bridon to church with her today so the mom could enjoy church in her own ward (Emerson 1st). He loved it there! He ate treats from the kitchen and wandered around and then during Sacrament meeting he fell asleep.
Keep at it, no one ever said that raising kids was easy, but it is worth it!

Good luck! Marcus lost his temper and put Z in bed at 6 tonight because she kept getting on the kitchen table and fell twice in 20 minutes and hit her head. I hope Marcus and Ben can keep their blood pressure down :)

(It made me feel better about life after reading this, so thanks!)

sorry to hear about the vericose veins! what we do to bring these little hoodlums into the world! We just had stake conference, which equals nightmare with a 2 year old! It was almost completely dark and we couldn't keep him entertained for more than a couple of minutes (and I didn't bring any candy!) which always works. Nathan and Ben seem to have the same amount of patience! NONE!
