saturday i finally decided to do the lunch dishes at abt. 2:30 and there was no water...anywhere! i tried a couple of things that ben recommended, then he called marsing hardware to await the fate of the pump. at 6:30, the guy called me and said it was up and running. two frogs had got caught inside and arched the switch, so he replaced it and we were back in business! the pump and well still need to be replaced from filling up spray rigs and pumping so much sand, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. i was just so happy to have water again! someday i'll get that new kitchen, instead of fixing all the major stuff! :)
last evening, we went up to ben's parents for our weekly popcorn popping session and bentley promptly got in the rental car kathy had there and turned on some switches and honked the horn. we had him get right out, but at 7 this morning, the keys were locked inside when everybody was up needing to go. luckily, ben and i just re-purchased our AAA membership for our super-trustworthy car, and called a locksmith to come out and get it opened. that boy has all ready got a tab adding up to pay off in his later years...i better get him on the mower quick!! :)
we have a new edition at home here (well outside our house) named curious george. you pronounce her name as "care-E-as-as" george. she is a little grey kitten ben and bentley found at the shop. she survived her first nite here in a rain storm and even got her shots once she got here. she is cute, but i'm not sure i'm up for TWO cats. bentley is good about making sure she is fed and bridon loves to chase her and pick her up. he's slowly learning how to be "soft". trailer cat seems to love her too.
bentley had his first visit to the dentist. he went with ben and they both had their teeth cleaned and a check-up. we talked about it for a few days before and he was very apprehensive, but the morning of, for some reason he took right to it. he had a blast and came out holding up all of his loot when i picked them up. i dropped ben off at old blue (one of the semis) while we were over by boise. on the way home, bridon drifted off to sleep. small problem he has though...once he falls asleep, when the car stops, the nap is over and then he's a monster come about 5 o'clock. oh, bridie boy, what are we going to do with you always eating toothpaste, face cream, and still not sleeping through the nite, and your new word "uh-oh"?!
we've had a few visitors in the last bit...grandpa and grandma moncur came up and stayed one nite for uncle mark's 90th birthday in nyssa. the settle's came over so that their dad could fix our refrigerator - and then us moms and kids went to the zoo for pre-school that week!, and camille and mary brought some fun, halloween cupcakes that the boys smeared all over themselves and thoroughly enjoyed.
as for ben and i, just the same old business. still farming and doing books, but we did go on a date with the tuft's and that was fun. ben is trying to get 4th cutting up and we are busy with corn harvest right now. i have been cleaning out the yard and garden and trying to keep myself motivated. sometimes at the end of the day, i am exhausted! last wednesday, i had something in mind for supper but just couldn't get myself started on it. while i was out in the yard, one of our past workers showed up and brought us authentic sushi and tempura with an awesome green salad. it is so amazing how the lord knows every little thing that we need! i hope i can be an answer to someone's prayer...even if it's small!
