Jordan Valley Branch

on sunday we drove up to jordan valley, oregon to attend branch conference. all the stake leaders are asked to bring their families and then we hold a potluck dinner afterwards. this was our 4th year attending, and it is always pretty crazy and fun at the same time. the building has only one, big room with a kitchen, rs room, and bathroom...not so accomidating for a toddler who is learning to walk! yes, once again, we won the circus award, and it was so blasted hot! little bentley got to go to primary since there is no nursery. he was a bit apprehensive at first, but after sitting with him and singing some songs he took right to it. he sang songs, colored pictures, and got to go out and see the 'orsies' (horses) that were right up next to the parking lot. our stake president spoke during all three meetings. the messages that i caught were really good...one theme especially stood out to me and that is that we are going to be held accountable for those we could have helped or shared the gospel with but didn't. i have much to work on in that area. i always tell ben after we leave up there that i think it would be a great place to live. it's only 45 minutes from marsing, so what, only 1 1/2 hours from major metropolis, but so tucked away! but, that's when he asks me what we would do for a living...yah, that'd be a problem. maybe when we get old. i must admit, it's not like the tiny mormon communities in utah or idaho, but catholic and pretty rough... like living in the mission field where it's a challenge, especially for the youth!
