"Happy Birthday Aunt Bentley"

we have been asking bentley all sorts of questions leading up to his birthday. he knows that he is 3, his birthday is march 11th, he is going to have a family party, etc. these are his routine answers, along with telling us over and over that he wants 'shrimp and spinach' and an 'orange, kitty-kat cake'. this morning when i came in singing happy birthday to him, he decided to start singing himself and i caught him more than once singing happy birthday to aunt bentley. must be recent aunt birthdays??? lisa, jenny, etc. what a funny little guy! i can't believe he is three... and yet i can't imagine life without him or really remember those days! it was only three years ago that i was freaking out over being a mother. yep, i was one of those uncommon lds women who wasn't dieing to be a mom at 19. i'm telling you, that's one of the reasons i went so far overdue...when the dr. asked if i wanted to be induced i just thought, this baby can stay in there a little longer, cause i have no idea what i'm going to do when he/she comes out! but, look at me now...i made it through it, it may not be pretty, but it is such a blessing to be a mother! bentley brings so much joy into both ben and i's lives!
today we blew up balloons, made birthday posters, baked cake cups, and had delicious bbq'ed shrimp before opening up presents. blaiz and tylee sent a toy blender which bentley promplty filled with black beans, he got a horse swing and t-shirt from us and also a jdeere tool set that ben found at the di last winter (nice deal shopping!!) he loved it. he was out the door in a flash working on whatever he could find. happy birthday bentley! we love you!!!
