First Time for Everything

last week the boys and i ventured down 'home' to spend time with mom (and dad and bud when we saw them!), lisa, and her kids for spring break. we left town from pre-school, loaded down with last mintute shower items and necessities. bentley and blaiz got their first chance to each fly a thomas-the-train kite with gma while bridon and tylee looked on...or ate dirt, either way. blaiz' attention span seemed to be a little bit more condusive to this activity, but bentley still talks about it as if he had a good time! we enjoyed our visit, especially the nice weather and time to be together! saturday, before heading back home (ok, which one is my home?...this sounds confusing!), we threw whitney a bridal, abc grocery shower. this was the first time we had had a big family event (besides the reunion) without grandma being there, and i missed seeing her! it still was fun to see our cousins and friends and old ward members there, and it looks like alan and whitney's pantry will be very nicely stocked for quite awhile!
that day i kept giving ben a bad time about using his time constructively since it sounded like he didn't have a lot going on in the line of farm work. i didn't want to get my hopes up, but man, he pulled through and surprised me by getting the new den painted! what a guy...first time for everything i say! i've just had trim work, cleaning, and the hallway to work on...much better odds of getting done than i would have before!

The den looks good (from what I can see), I can't wait to see it all. Maybe next time we come down Bentley can teach Katy how to fly a kite. She always wants to but Seattle really isn't the best place to...lots of tree, no wind, and lots of rain. Yeah, no good.

Hi Maria,
Looks like fun. Sometimes I wish I was closer to home so I could go visit more. (It will always be home to me). That picture of your mom and Blaiz flying the kite looks like it should be in one of those country magazines. I love it. Looks like you had a fun party too, you are so full of cute ideas!

I still think of the kite-flying too! It was fun! I'm glad you could come "home" to visit. It's always fun to have everyone back under the same roof again. Thanks for the help with the shower. I thought it turned great!
