so the other morning ben got up at 5:30 to go work out and there was a huge raccoon eating the chicken bones we'd left out for the cat (yes, one of our delicious, homegrown fowls). anyway, it scared him too death, being caught off-guard! the rotten thing gets into all the food and garbage and we think it killed a stray cat last week, so we decided to trap it. i'm sure bentley would love a coon skin cap for his birthday! we locked up our cat in the shop and as you can see, after nite #1, caught another, HUGE cat we'd never seen before!
don't worry animal lovers, it was a live trap and ben let him go. i'll let you know how the hunting progresses in the next couple of days. we also have been blessed (really!) with lots of moisture this winter to fill our reservoirs. the best snow-man making day this week, ben and i were stuck in traffic/snow for 2 hrs to try to get to 'fill the temple' day...so bentley and i ventured out after the prime...but we still got one put up!

Awesome trap! You should have kept the fat cat around, it looks like he would eat all your rodents!
Hi Maria,
Great looking snowman Bentley! I made it home tonight (Sunday) from Lisa and Eldon's. Tylee is sure a cute little (big) girl! I was glad to be able to go down and help out a little. Well back to school tomorrow. Have a good week!
P.S. I told you that cardboard boxes make great play toys for kids!
Hi Maria and Ben,
Thanks for inviting us to your blog. Sounds like your winter has been fun and exciting. We love to see pictures of Bentley he's the greatest. Glad you like DC, Camille was so excited you came. We leave friday for our short weekend with her, can hardly wait! Just finished my new baby projects for both you and Lisa, yeah! Good luck catching that racoon.

hi maria & ben & bentley!
I love your blog and thank you for inviting me to join! It looks like you've had quite the adventures the past few weeks! I loved Washington DC and especially driving from Fairfax, Va on the freeway as you swing around the bend and low and behold there is the temple. Aunt Connie and I saw it when the sun was just over the Angel Moroni and was it ever impressive!
Man, what a cat! At least he's not guts on the highway somewhere yet!
Love, Aunt Carolee
