Snowboots and Swimsuits

what's summer without a good pair of snow boots to get you through (and a plethora of knives in this case)?  it seems that someone always has some insulated boots during the summer they just can't let go of...and this year it was mostly bridon's turn.
boots and shorts, boots and shorts.  lots of farming has gone on in the snow boots and shorts combo for both him and bentley.  although this batch of pictures doesn't show it, the girls like to go too.  they go with dad when he's nearby...and ellee especially wants to go for a ride when ben comes into the diesel tanks, so if he's close, she gets to go and we come pick her up when she's had enough.

lot's of irrigating and moving cows, even some handlines by themselves.  the boys were on when ben stopped into do a favor and cut a 2 acre patch, hit a bicycle the people's kids had left in the field, and demolished the header.  several thousand $'s later, it is back, but that's why the yellow swather was in the pictures for awhile.

and bentley got the day of his dreams while i was in getting a crown put on my tooth.  heather took the other kiddos to settlers park and bentley got to spend the whole day baling straw and learning how to do it himself!  he did a great job, clammy hands and all ben said.
of course, we had to cool off in the summer heat with our swim suits!  we took swim lessons from lisa mecham's girls for a week and swam a few times in their pool and at holtom's once more, even with dad once!  bentley and emerson progressed nicely.  ellee and bridon have a bit more work to do:).  we also had fun at the marler's above-ground pool and at the lake with bingham's and cousins again (jenny's family stayed for 4 weeks).  i got to try out paddle boarding on the lake on a burning hot day.  it was so much fun!

then we couldn't let summer go by without going out to taggert's big slip and slide and into camille's for an afternoon in her pool.  one of the funniest things happened at taggert's when aunt jenny flew off the end of the slide with 2 of the girl cousins straight thru the pond, and flipped sideways onto the grass.  too bad there wasn't a video!

we wrapped up the season with a long awaited trip to roaring springs to use the roaring reader passes of the boys.  our friends, the settle's, met us there.  we did the pm plunge and although it was cold from the smoke, the kids said it was the funnest and coldest and best time ever to go on all the slides and rides!!  they were all up for anything!  long live snowboots and swimsuits.  we've worn you out!
