Be Still My Soul...

writing is a bit therapeutic for me, and since i can now move my fingers in my right arm, it is time to do a little bit.  but for now, i want to remember this 'perfect' moment with my kids.  it was saturday, october 26th.  there were kerfuffles over chores and ticket time, a small fist fight with the boys resulting in a bloody nose and blue bandaid, and the endless list of household chores, and garden to clean.  ben was gone working.  the kitchen sink was plugged tight all the way down the disposal, with the plumber not yet arrived.  someone lost the handle to the main toilet, so it was out of commission as well.  but the sky was beautiful!  the leaves and fall colors were in their glory.

i loaded everyone up and we went down to the park and swang as high as we could to try to touch mom in the middle.  we went round and round on the merry go round until buzz said he was feeling tipped over in the head.  we took pictures in the leaves and we played on the monkey bars and rode the bobbing animals.  all was well in that moment.

from President Monson "Whether it is the best of times or the worst of times, He is with us...We must pray to Him and listen to Him every day.  We truly need Him every hour, whether they be hours of sunshine or of rain.  May his promise ever be our watchword: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."  this was my beautiful moment of sunshine before the rain.  i hold it dear.
