tomorrow is 2012? i can't believe it! we have had a wonderful time celebrating this time of year with our family and friends. ben's sisters came into town last week. we got together one nite and decorated sugar cookies. the cookie with the most frosting was to be the winner according to grandpa!
we did indeed use some of those eggs and made a big batch of christmas bread for friends and ourselves. the boys were right up in the middle of it and helped me get it all put together and kneaded before i dropped them and lunch off at the truck. they came home dusty and dirty...in december. meanwhile poor emerson was miserable. we finally had the dentist take a look and she had a horrible infection in her mouth. just touching her
gums would make them bleed. she even had blood on her crib sheet. got her going on a prescription and she's doing better... christmas eve we had a little, progressive dinner with family in the area. we tried for a traditional jewish meal and started out at brad & jill's, moved onto gma & gpa's for pitas, etc. and came here for almond cake-our birthday cake for jesus, pomegranites, etc . we then listended to jingle bells, and acted out the nativity and called it a nite.
bentley was sure nervous he was going to miss santa, but they went to bed well and didn't get up until a little before 7. christmas morning is so fun...and actually going to church was awesome. i wish we could do it on every christmas morning, just maybe at 10, instead of 9! :) when we got home, we watched a christmas movie and played with toys. emerson got a custom 'kitchen' (we transformed it from a nitestand :) that the boys get to play with too..
on monday, we got down to mom and dad's in time to visit a little and opened really cool gifts and then our get together for the annual moncur-wells christmas
party. it was based on the 'a christmas story' with target practice, trivia, a chinese dinner, and of course, spoons. as usual, the menfolk were weeded out right away. camille came out the winner. the kids had a blast and tore the house down. the food was delicious, the gifts were adorable (esp. camille's crocheted ones), and it was so fun to take a break from the norm. we stayed down there for another day, toured alan's new house, shopped w-out kids, made kiddo crafts, and went to a movie! yes, that was exciting in itself! then on wednesday, we participated in our ward temple day and visited with julie's famly. always a great time.
i've been busy with taxes and year-end stuff the last couple of weeks, but i think i've got that pretty well done. yeah!! onto new year resolutions. we've had a wonderful week!
