the kids and cousins bowled in tremonton when we got there while ben and eldon checked out the 'check engine' light on the excursion. an oil change seemed to solve the problem. wednesday nite i tried out my sister in law's brining recipe on the turkey. it turned out delicious!
thursday we kicked off the morning with a turkey trot around lisa's neighborhood. it was super weather and she had made us all race shirts. the kids each had a foot race, some of us adults ran a bit, and the rest strolled. i believe emerson was the most enthusiastic runner! each of us 'sponsers' had a prize for all.

each of us brought delicious dishes and so by one, we were ready to feast. some of the fam even dropped gr-grandpa k. off so he could join us. we ate and talked, played outside, did kid crafts, played a few games and spent the nite up late! good times!

our last day, the kids had lots of fun playing together. gpa and alan and whitney had to go home, but the rest of us braved the insane wind and hunted for a tree in sublett on the way home. ben won't let me live it down that the tree probably cost 3x the amount at a lot and looks like a charlie brown (we just watched as the mpg average continued to plummett both ways in a headwind). but it was a great memory and it wasn't too cold or windy on the hillside up past the reservoir. we brought gma and gpa's tree home and had some dinner...what a great trip. we had so much fun! we had guns to shoot and cousins here to play with when we got back. thanksgiving is an awesome holiday...low stress, lots of food, family, and fun!
