WIND

the last three times (labor day, christmas, and now gen. conference) we have ventured to my parents, we have encountered serious wind. it starts out nice, and then freezing cold wind blows in and traps us inside. oh well, my boys still have a great time and don't want to go home. we went for a couple of days this weekend and watched conference and had a resurrection egg hunt that lisa brought and made bird nests that we brought to make . we celebrated mom's birthday, which is today. bentley was so taken with the fact that she was 59! he even drew 59 candles on the birthday card he made for her! he and bridon had a blast helping grandpa with his baby calves until the wind picked up like crazy. and, of course, they had so much fun playing when blaiz and tylee arrived. i love having the chance to listen to our leaders and visit with family and friends. there were so many things that touched my heart during conference, but i especially enjoyed the talk on parenting when eld. robbins asked what virtue or attribute does your child need to understand? i'm at a steep learning curve, so i had never looked at it in this light! there was so much on service, or maybe that's just what i was to get out of it! i also enjoyed the story of the old prospector whose sack was full of gold dust. he had spent his years picking up the valuable flecks instead of only searching for big, nuggets like the young miner. and, i loved the reminder that everything on the earth testifies of christ, including the seasons...summer, fall, winter, and spring!

ben's brothers always give me a hard time that i go down home there every five minutes :). it's true, before i was married, and for awhile thereafter i went quite a bit. hello, i didn't have any family here! but, please, i have three kids to haul and pack up that usually go nuts and don't sleep when out of their routine. no different this time, bridon had b withdrawals and emerson had her eye teeth poke through and have now gone back up....a real treat at nite and in the car. i find it ironic anyways, that one brother lives with his in-laws and the other two have their in-laws right over here in town. silly guys! we spend ample time with the mcintyre crew, which we do enjoy! and, besides, why wouldn't i give our kids the chance to make memories with their grandparents and cousins on both sides? at bentley's age, both ben and i were all ready missing at least one grandparent. so, come visit us next. we'll try to order a couple days of NO WIND! ha! :)

I'm glad you like to come home to visit. It's nice to have everyone come under our little roof. Sorry about the wind - it's a bugger to deal with but I keep saying its better than hurricanes. Maybe...
