From the Mouth of Babes

it's pretty funny sometimes listening to what they have to say... like how do they both know the name of every piece of farm machinery around here? how do they remember where stuff is or where we've been?

whenever we turn down orchard, bridon yells "swimming, swimming, janelle" (place where bentley took swimming lessons 2 months ago). or when we turn down apricot lane, "rory, rory" little friend who lives at the end. probably only been to her house 3 times max, since spring. he also remembers all of you in his prayers at nite. his speech is progressing a little at a time. no full sentences yet, but improvement. ben tried to teach him the word "speech impediment" (nice). he says it really funny and bentley calls it a "peach" impediment. he actually sounds pretty normal.

yesterday bentley gave a talk about jonah and the whale. he was on his way to "va-nineva" to preach when he got swallowed. he asked ben the other day how a friend, katie, can have two babies in her belly (she is expecting twins). good luck with that! he asks about people in the grocery store that write all over themselves (tatoos) and i was just waiting for him to burst out at a cousin's wedding as to why the girls weren't wearing pants (scary, shirt dress things). but last nite topped them all. we've never talked about it with him before; apparently he's observant. he asked his uncle, who lives with his girlfriend, "are you married yet?" way to bring it out into the open bentley. all of us adults seem to beat around the bush about it...i pretended i didn't hear him and went in the kitchen. i would be interested in knowing the response though!

That's right! If only we were all brave enough to not beat around the bush.

I wish we could all keep that "childlike" characteristic throughout our lives - the world would be a much more gentle, kinder place to live
