i've been asked a few times, 'so you guys really never go anywhere all summer long?'..yep. and then i knew it was true when bentley asked why some friends of ours were going camping. something to the effect of 'why do people do that?' growing up, we didn't get away from the farm either.

girls camp and trips to park valley were the extent of it! my only real, summer traveling and recreation came the summer before my mission and while single up here. in order for me to stay sane with all these little kidlets though, i try to plan or attend at least one or two summer activities a week. sometimes ben can join us too. this week was the zoo with jill and heston. we picked the hottest day of the year and loaded everyone up. while i was getting everything ready, brid
on decided to cut a magazine up with bentley's scissors. they are safety ones, so i thought i was safe to leave him for just a couple of minutes while i went to th
e bathroom. when i walked out, emerson had blood coming out her mouth, her binki, and wiped all over her hat. bridon had randomly decided to cut her fi
nger with the scissors while she was swinging. i had to totally clean her up, redress her, and bandage her cut. luckily it was pretty minor! that boy! he also likes to see how far his fingers fit down her throat or in her ears, or bite her toes. i'm not sure if he has a conscious! so, this past month or so, we've gone or had friends over for a bbq and let the kids play, been swimming a few times, participated in our ward's 24th celebration with the kiddo bike parade - bridon chickened out and just wanted to push the stroller, took the boys miniature golfing, bought tickets to the stampede where bentley was dying to mutton bust (maybe park valley next year!), many
days of slip n' slide while bridon nap
s, and the latest zoo outing. summer's still busy...it's just a few of these things, with a lot of late nites, rides in the grain truck, swather, tractors, delivering meals, and changing water. just the way we like it! i do want to buy a boat when the kids are older though, since the lake is so close. that way we can run up and go boating for a couple hours every so often and then return to work... great idea, don't ya think?!

i am impressed at all of your activities! you are a great mom!
sounds like your kids are having a lot of fun! i know your frustration with the whole bridon/emerson deal. i have the same problem with my new baby and his 1-yr-old sis!
You are some of the busiest people I know. So much for "Safety scissors". Now I'm going to watch Zannah a LOT closer when she has hers out!
