today bentley turned four years old! i can't believe my little boy is all ready four...but i have found that this is such a fun age with him being so inquisitive and wanting to learn so much!my favorite things about him are how he loves to hold conversations with people and ask them questions, what a great helper he is, his sense of humor, his innocence, and how i can talk him into what is available or his second choice...most of the time :)
we happened to have two field trips lined up for pre-school, so we started out the day making smoothees and getting ready to go to daybreak donuts in nampa for a tour. after a couple of errands, we came home and had lunch with dad and opened presents. bentley got some cards in the mail, a marshmellow gun from cousin blaiz, and i made him a scripture bag for sunbeams and filled it with a little bom and children's songbook (he loves the big one) and then ben and i had a farm sweatshirt made for him and he got new 'boy' glasses and some watercolors. he seemed pretty happy! he started shooting stuff with the gun and took his scripture bag in the car later that afternoon. he got to go with dad over at the shop and brought his bike home to ride outside here at the house. then it was time for our second field trip to the caldwell police station. we saw it all- the car, the holding tank, crime lab, and even hit the fire button in the elevator. yikes! we had quite a group with his age, the little ones, and older bros and sisters home from school. cheers to our tour guide! this evening we used our free birthday club burger card to go to red robin. there were balloons out everywhere and 'red' the robin was there in person to visit. bentley wanted to be sang to, but as you can see his reaction was a little leery. he said he loved it anyway and was happy they came and sang to him. bridon just ate ketchup, fries, and lettuce. such a weird eater and cheesed it up for the camera! b and i picked up the groceries for his family dinner and cake on sunday at winco, then headed to the shop, home and the shower! i remember my childhood birthdays an
d they were such happy memories. this was my first time as a mother that i knew he cared about his birthday and i wanted to make him feel special. it was just magical for some reason. hope it was a happy birthday my little boy...i love you!
