Full of Suprises

this week ben turned the big 3-0! yep, creeping up, over the hill! i always remember birthdays being special...never with a lot of gifts or money, but a great meal, a few, fun presents, and grandma and grandpa over for dinner and cake and ice cream. so, usually we just pass right over our adult, birthdays and have dinner and a couple of gifts, but this year i decided it was monumental :)!
i surprised ben by taking him to a great thai restaurant that i found thru some of the couponing i've been trying called "mai tai". it was absolutely delicious. i then blindfolded him and we went to the anniversary inn; he was only a little bit woosy when we arrived. gma and gpa mcintyre and the girls were so kind to watch the boys while we were away. then, on saturday, it was ben's actual birthday. we got a great rain storm, so it worked out perfectly to be able to have a slow morning and have a second surprise for ben. everyone met down at the white house (drive-in in marsing) for breakfast, his fav.
it's a bootleg, little place but we had a great time and he was totally surprised. the breakfast burritos/sandwiches were as good as i'd heard (from him of course), and we had friends and family from near and far. even jenny and chris drove all the way down. thanks everyone for helping us celebrate! our boys are so worn out from it all that they went to bed at 7:30. whew!
