ben, brad, and spencer went to the annual idaho hay and forage convention held in burley this week. i decided to come along and drop them off so that i could head out and see my grandpa kunzler. it just so happened that the day of the convention was grandma's birthday. grandpa decided he'd like to have a little get together with whoever could come and we headed out to the 'cattleman's cafe' in malta to have lunch in honor of grandma. it was great to spend the morning with mom and have lunch with all that could make it! afterwards, lisa and i and the kids all ventured out to park valley to spend the nite with grandpa. i have always loved going out to park valley, to this tiny community tucked away where sometimes it seems like time could stop. but mostly i love looking at the old buildings, mixed with the new, and thinking about all the history and legacy that exists there. as for our stay, the kids pretty much tore the house down playing, but we enjoyed visiting with grandpa, watching a game, preparing breakfast, and going for a walk down in 'the yard'. let's not get into the details of our sleeping arrangements...i have still not fully recovered. we put the house back in order before we left and said our goodbyes as grandpa watched from the front porch...it used to be grandma too, tradition. what a blessing it is to have family...and what fun bentley, blaiz, tylee, and bridon will have making these memories!

Why do grandparents have to get older! I hope our kids have the same great memories. I almost started crying when you said it was tradition for your grandpa and grandma to stand on the porch, because my grandparents would always stand at the kitchen window and wave until we were gone.
I love the pic of the kids with your Grandpa on the step and the one of Bentley with the horse. He looks so excited! What a fun roadtrip! Glad you got to go.
I'm so glad that you were able to come and be with us at the lunch on Tuesday. Thank you for taking the time and effort to go see dad. I know he was really happy that you and Lisa and the little kids would come and spend some time with him. I hope you recover from your lack of sleep. I appreciate all you do!
What wonderful pictures, and what a great time with your grandpa. Trust me you will treasure those moments forever. Your elements pictures are great the way they are, what more could you do with them?? Mary
