this week we have had a few surprises! it all started when we got home on president's day from my parents' and the beus family and the house was cold. no problem, we must have run out of diesel...ben stayed up late and carried jugs down to the house, but the furnace wouldn't fire. the next day, we had the tank completely filled, but still no fire. next, the repairman who said the oil pump was out and he would be back to fix it the next day. and, finally, yesterday we ordered a new furnace that costs more than our car is worth! but, there is a bright side...this week has been very mild, so we are not freezing too death and bridon has decided to sleep for some, wonderful reason!
but...back to THIS beauty! we had all ready planned to do some home improvements this winter and got started on our 'den.' this was what was underneath the carpet...votes on whether i should keep it?!

too bad on the furnace. as for the floor, depends on what you were going to put down.
That stuff looks sweet! Erma had good taste! =)
You guys should have come and camped out at my place while the furnace was broken! :) I'm thinking you could definitely make the floor work. What does Ben think? See you Saturday...
You are all about retro...I think if you keep it you will make it work and it will look fabulous!
Goodness, is that supposed to look like rocks? You'll have a great time matching paint to that! I would have to see it in person before giving an opinion about keeping it. From this perspective I would have to vote NO! You could always just cover over it again and save it for later...
I'm glad you have a positive attitude about your furnace! I would have had to finance it!
you totally could come up with something fun with that stuff, if you don't love it later you could change it! I hate it when you have unexpected breakdowns in your house, i am glad your baby slept for you!
umm yeah definitely keep it, i love the hint of turquoise. it adds something special.
Thats pretty cool! I love surprises like that! Under my parents carpet in their living room is a GORGEOUS hard wood floor! LOVE surprises like that!
