Rental Car or Bust!

so, one of ben's cousins, carly, got married on the weekend of the 6th. the wedding was in the salt lake temple and the reception in santaquin. for once, we made it out of the driveway only 20 minutes behind schedule...we pulled over in boise so that i could drive since ben had been working all nite and day, and by the time we got to mountain home, the noise i had been hearing in the front end was getting worse by the mile. no fear, there was a les schwab there...we pulled in, found out our driver's side ball joint was about to fall off, walked across the road and rented a much more economical car (hyndai sonata) and were back on the road lickety-split! ha ha! if you know us, you know that no matter how new the car, we seem to be the lucky victims of breakdowns...it is a plague, but on the bright side, i always say "hey, it's just time and money...it CAN be fixed...it is not a human being, and not one of my kids!"...then, i am much more happy and realize how blessed i am!

anyway, back to our road trip...we dropped bentley off at grandma and grandpa's for a much awaited overnite stay (for being a big boy and going in the potty)...he would ask "momma, stay, NO?!" does that make sense? (he didn't want me to stay...just him) we made it to the wedding in ample time the next morning and enjoyed a luncheon in american fork and then an outdoor reception in santaquin visiting with lots of ben's family on the buchanan side. it was fun to see everyone! bridon was a great traveler and we had no more mishaps except my sore throat came back with vengeance, so a late nite call to st. al's (don't get me started on that place) and trip to walgreen's the next day got me back on the mend.

we stayed the nite at david and sheri durham's and stayed up like teenagers till 2 in morning talking about old times and such. it was so fun to hang out with them again...we went to church together in the morning and then they cooked us an awesome lunch and we were off, after playing with their girls and seeing their new baby they adopted, isaac. thx guys! off we went back to mom and dad's to pick up bentley. he had had a wonderful time making cookies, driving the tractor, going to storybook park, and grandpa caught him a 'very hungry caterpillar' which just hatched today amid a rain storm!...ah, road trips, they aren't what they used to be....but we enjoyed getting away, nonetheless!

These are great pictures! Biking looks fun, I wish I had someone to ride with. Maybe it's better alone though, Tylee usually cries and I am too out of breath to talk.
Maybe this week I'll become more serious about exercising again...maybe :)

So glad you could visit Camille, she had a wonderful time with you and the kids. I can't believe how much Bridon has grown, my goodness. I have to tell you I laughed and laughed at the melted animals, my all time favorite. Did your mom ever tell you about her bread dough when your mom and dad were first married and the oven??? Love you guys! Mary
