this week we've enjoyed beets, zuchini, cucumbers, beans, and spinach from the garden. i must say there is nothing better than home-grown produce, even if a few plants (ok, a lot of plants!) are missing from squash bugs (huge infestation this week), EXTRA-high powered compost (too hot!), and bentley's little fingers! i try to have everything perfect, but sometimes...you just gotta let go! so what if the windows have a few cobwebs and kid's prints AND the garden is missing a whole row of green beans?!! hopefully we'll produce enough for canning/storage for the winter and a few, yummy items to give to neighbors and friends. i couldn't imagine not doing this kind of work; thanks mom for making it seem second nature!

wow! your yard looks great! who cares if its missing some plants, at least the one's you've got are green! my apricots are greenish-yellow, i'm thinking they'll be ready in maybe 10 days-2 weeks. come if you can, if not I'll just can them and share. eldon got a new job today. that's why I was asking about the onion farmer, i'll have to give you the details (no he's not picking or growing onions for a living at this point) :)
see you soon!
